History: I've been blogging since 2003, but have been making websites since 2001. Starting out on a simple page-generator website that doesn't exist anymore, I eventually moved to Geocities, where my site changed names about three times and saw several revamps. I stayed there until 2005, when I finally decided to get my own domain name. So-Patiently.net was registered and hosted with ActiveWebHosting in July that year and went strong until I started using my LiveJournal account more and more, having made many friends on that website. When I started to neglect my blog, going weeks without updating (not to mention that the domain's last layout was up for over a year, ever since a host switch to DreamHost), I eventually realized that it was because I was no longer happy about it. The site needed a major makeover, and I was getting really tired of the name.

Thus Midnight Lullaby was born. Well, not quite. I struggled for many months before finally coming up with the actual name. I was looking for something refreshing, pretty and poetic that resembled me; the name actually came to me all of a sudden, but I thought it fit in a strange way: I'm a night owl (midnight) and I like music (lullaby). For a moment, I considered using the French translation (berceuse de minuit) before finally settling on the English version. At first, I was planning of simply updating the content, but finally decided to delete everything and started over. Some of the old content, mainly in the 'Visitor' section is still there, and you might see some old things pop up in the future, but for now everything I feel needs to be on this site is there. Everything is neater, less cluttered than on the old site, and I even revamped the blog, which was not planned at the beginning. Separating my real life from my online life (or so to speak, because this isn't exactly true), from now on I'll be using my LiveJournal as a friends-locked blog about real life stuff, and the blog here at Midnight Lullaby to express my opinions and thoughts about various subjects.
